Dr. Carol Mathews for Dr. Teitelbaum's family left you the following instructions:

Hello,

We are proud to host the celebration of life for Dr. Scott Teitelbaum on Monday, October 26, 2026. Dr. Teitelbaum was a significant figure in addiction medicine nationwide and had a distinguished career leading the UF Health Florida Recovery Center and caring for numerous patients in recovery. We are preparing a special gratitude video to share with his family, celebrating his impact both personally and professionally in addiction medicine.

Please consider recording a short video to share a personal story or a funny memory about Dr. Teitelbaum, particularly one that showcases his kind heart and dedication to recovery.
Please submit your video by Monday, Oct. 5.

Video Content Tips:
  • Open your message with something like "Scott was," or "Dr. T always made me laugh, but one time...".
  • Express gratitude for why he was so meaningful to you:
    • Ex. My journey would not be the same if it weren't for Dr. Teitelbaum having told me/showing me/sharing this knowledge with me...". Or "Because of Dr. T, I am able to [state impact]."
  • We recommend keeping your message short (45-60 seconds)
  • The content of your video is ultimately up to you. Make it grateful, funny, sweet, informative - whatever tone you want.
Recording Tips:
  • You can record directly to ThankView on your desktop or mobile device, or upload an existing video file.
  • Make sure to film horizontally so you fill the frame.
  • When recording with a phone/tablet, use a tripod or prop it up with something like books for stability. Try not to hold it.
  • Keep your device close for good sound quality but far enough away that you are the focus. Try 3-4 feet.
  • Wait a beat after you start recording before speaking, and a beat after you stop speaking before stopping recording.
  • Choose a location that provides balanced lighting. Try to find a room with natural light, and record with the window facing you. If the window is behind you, you will appear shadowed.
  • Avoid echo chambers. Oftentimes, sparse offices or conference rooms can create a lot of echoes.
  • Avoid blustery locations or areas with lots of foot or vehicle traffic, as your device’s mic may pick up noise.
  • If you don't like your first take, you can try again. 😀
